These are Volumetric modular units, which are transported to site as large building elements and then attached to an existing building, (this example is a single storey extension to a disabled use social housing scheme) or linked together to form complete buildings without the need for additional superstructure. The internal fit-out, finishes and building services would normally be installed and commissioned in the units in the factory. External façade claddings and roof treatments are often installed on site.
