Offsite – Real, Up Close & In the Flesh!

The Mtech Consult and Galliford Try ‘Innovate Offsite’ building at Ecobuild will showcase the very best in Offsite construction, bringing together a selected but broad range of systems, products and techniques to demonstrate that used together well, they really do produce a better building.

The generic building will be constructed in the exhibition hall using real Offsite technologies, with real interfaces, by real workers, in a small space with difficult access and a tight deadline. It won’t try to hide anything, but rather is intended to illustrate the benefits of using Offsite for complex and challenging areas, as well as for standard processes and more straightforward builds.

In reality, main contractors are instrumental in making any Offsite installation work, so this one is being run like a traditional design and build project by Galliford Try, with Offsite systems and products identified by Mtech Consult and supplied by a variety of sub-contractors, just as in a real project.

Timber frame, light steel framing, cladding, room and volumetric modules, insulated render, staircases, balconies and more are being supplied by some of the UK’s foremost Offsite manufacturers, including Kingspan Offsite, Elements Europe, Lakesmere, PermaRock, Advanced Panel Systems, Environmental Building Partnership, London Engineering and Architechnik, to name just a few.
